At last,,, natapos ko na!!! After 3 days of reading, ive finally finished reading the whole story of The Alchemist. What can I say about the book? Well,,, it was a truly an inspirational one. And I want to take the opportunity to thank my friend ro-anne for introducing me to the book. It made me realize so many things not only about life and love, but of living ur dreams and making the most out of what u have. Im not really the type who enjoys reading pocket books but this had made me change my ideology. Read dis book and ull see why. Its written by Paolo Coelho and was a short one written with simplicity compard to the other books sold on book stores.

Here are some of my favorite lines… read them so that u could have insight about the story.

v People learn, early in their lives, what is their reason for being.
v If u start out by promising what u don’t even have yet, ull loose ur desire to work toward getting it.
v The principle of favorability… when u play cards at the first time, ur amost sure to win. Beginner’s luck.
v In order to find the treasure, u will have to follow the omens. God has prepared a path for everyone to follow. You just have to read the omens that he left for you.
v Don’t forget that everything you deal with is only one thing and nothing else. And don’t forget the language of the omens. And above all, don’t forget to follow ur personal legend through to its conclusion.
v The secret of happiness is to see all the marvels of the world and never to forget the drops of the oil in the spoon.
v When u really want something, the unvirse always conspires in ur favor.
v When I had my sheep, I was happy, and I made those aroud me happy. People saw me coming and welcomed me. But mow im sad and alone. Im going to become bitter and distrustful of people because one person betrayed me. Im going to hate those who had found their treasure because I never found mine. And im going to hold on to hat little I have, because im too insignificant to conquer the world.
v I see the world in terms of what I would like to see happen, not what actually does.
v There was a language in the world that everyone understood, a language the boy had used throughout the time that he was trying to improve things at the shop. It was the language of enthusiasm, of things accomplished with love and purpose, as part of the search for something believed in and desired.
v Intuition is really a sudden immersion of the soul into the universal current of life, where the histories of all people are connected, and we are able to know everything, because its all written there.
v People need not fear of the unknown if they are capable of achieving what they need and want.
v When u want something with all ur heart, that’s when you are closest to the Soul of the World. Its always a positive force.
v Everything on earth is being continuously transformed because the earth is alive… and it has a soul. We are a part of that world so we rarely recognize that it is working for us.
v All things are manifestations of one thing only. All the soul of the World was the language with which things communicated.
v This natural world is only an image and a copy of paradise. The existence is simply a guarantee that there exists a world that is perfect. God created the world so that, through its visible objects, men could understand the marvels of his wisdom. That’s what I mean by action.
v If you want to understand the Soul of the World, all u have to do is to contemplate a single grain of and ull see in it the marvels of creation.
v Why should I listen to my heart? Because u will never again be able to keep it quiet. Even if u pretend not to have heard what it tells u, it will always be there inside u, repeating to u what ur thinking about life and about the world.
v Why do we have to listen to our hearts? My heart is agitated, it has its dreams, it gets emotional and its become passionate over someone. It asks things of me and it keeps me from sleeping many nights, when im thinking about her. –Well, that’s good. Ur heart is alive. Keep listening to what it has to say.
v Listen to ur heart even if its treasonous. Treason is a blow that comes unexpectedly. If u know ur heart well, it will never be able to do that to u. Because u know its dreams and wishes, and u will know how to deal with them.
v U will never be able to escape from ur heart. So its better to listen to what it has to say. That way, ull never have to hear an anticipated blow.
v My heart is afraid that it will have to suffer. – Tell ur heart that the fear of suffering is no worse than the suffering itself. And that no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dreams, because every second of the search is a second’s encounter with God and with eternity.
v Before a dream is realized, the Soul of the World tests everything that was learned along the way. It does this not because it is evil, but so that we can, in addition to realizing our dreams, master the lessons we’ve learned as we’ve moved toward that dream. That’s the point at which most people give up. It’s the point at which, as we say in the language of the dessert, one dies of thirst just when the palm trees have appeared on the horizon.
v Every search begins with beginner’s luck and every search ends in a victor’s being severely tested.
v The darkest hour of the night came just before the dawn.v Don’t give in to ur fears, if u do, u wont be able to talk to ur heart.
v There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve. The fear of failure.
v When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better, too.
v Love is the force that transforms and improves the Soul of the World and the world we live in will be either best or worse, depending on whether we become better or worse. And that’s where the power of love comes in. Because when we love, we always strive to become better than we are.
v The boy reached through the Soul of the World, and saw that it was a part of the soul of God. And he saw that the soul of God was his own soul. And that he, a boy, could perform miracles.
v Be aware of the place where u are brought to tears. That’s where I am and that’s where ur future is.
